Auckland Heritage Festival

Auckland Heritage Festival 2023

Explore Auckland's rich heritage – from learning how protests throughout our history have shaped our national identity, to the ways we came together during significant times of joy and celebration.

Auckland Council is proud to present Auckland Heritage Festival – Peace, Love and Protest. Inspired by the 50 years since anti-nuclear protests were first embraced by our nation, learn about the events that defined who we were then and who we are now.

Visit Auckland's remaining down-draught kiln at Te Toi Uku Crown Lynn & Clayworks Museum, view wedding images from days gone by at Blockhouse Bay, dress up to re-enact 130 years of women’s suffrage, and hear Frances Palmer discuss Auckland’s nuclear-free protests during the 1980s. Join us for more than 160 free or low-cost events across Tāmaki Makaurau.
